3 strategies that have worked to attract and retain customers?
β Podcasting: The Side Hustle Show wasnβt a hit right out of the gate, but slowly grew a loyal following and has become a very important relationship-building channel.
β SEO: The website ranks well in Google for phrases like βside hustle ideasβ, which brings new readers and customers into the fold.
β Facebook Group: The Side Hustle Nation Facebook group started as an extension of the podcast and email audience, but now gets recommended by Facebook organically. Itβs another important touch-point for existing community members and a point of discovery for new audience members.
β Self Publishing: I have several books on Amazon, including a well-rated free one, that brings new people into Side Hustle Nation.
3 things that youβve learned about hiring and retaining great talent?
β Start with the end in mind: Itβs hard to define a role when you donβt have a clear picture of what success in that role looks like. Paint the picture of what a job well-done looks and feels like to set both you and your new hire up for success.
β Build your process library: When I made my first full-time hire, their workflow was entirely in my head, and I wondered why they just werenβt getting it! It took a while to create the step-by-step recipe for them to follow, and make a living document, not something set in stone, so they can update it if they find a better way.
β The Rule of 2: A friend shared this productivity rule with me. If you ever find yourself doing a task a 2nd time β and can see yourself having to do it again β pause and create the process documentation and hand that works over to a teammate. That prevents you as the business owner from spending too much time on repetitive in-the-weeds tasks and frees up your time to work on the bigger picture.
