At RV SnapPad, we make RV SnapPads, the world’s only permanent jack pad. A new product category in RV accessories, SnapPads snap on permanently to the bottom of an RV’s metal stabilizer or leveling feet. Kind of like shoes!

How does the company make money?

Our catalog is around 35 SKUs. They range in price from $20 for a single item to $350 for a bundled SKU. Most of our SKUs are packs (2, 4, or 6 items) because most RVs come with multiple leveling feet, which our product works with. 

3 strategies that have worked to attract and retain customers? 

✅ We aggressively leverage micro-influencer relationships to drive awareness, sales, authenticity, and UGC. While many brands are looking to partner with mega influencers, we are happy to work with a wide range of creators, even those with small audiences. The quality of the partnership/match and the resulting UGC is more important than just driving upfront sales.

✅ Performance marketing on Facebook has been a major acquisition lever for us since the early days. It is extremely powerful given the variety of creative you can use, as well as the size of the user base and intelligence of the ad platform. 

✅ We also make sure to attend consumer-facing rallies and shows in real life. This gets us face-to-face with our target audience where we can directly answer their questions and understand their anxieties and friction points around the product.

3 things that you’ve learned about hiring and retaining great talent?

✅ We are an independent, family-run business so we try to treat everyone who joins us as a new “member of the family” – with respect and dignity, but also someone who wins when the business wins.

✅ We try to assess a candidate’s ability to operate in a high-growth/change environment during the initial interview stages. Because we have created a new product category and have grown over 80% YoY on average, we are both doing things that no one else has done and changing rapidly all the time. While experience and talent base are naturally important, we really look for people who are able to operate in this unique environment.

✅ While we are still a small and scrappy brand, we try to provide as many great perks and benefits as possible. On top of standard stuff like medical insurance and vacation/time off, we also find ways to reward everyone when the business takes a major step forward. For example, the entire team went to Jaimaca in December 2019 after a year of extraordinary growth.
